Since moving to Paris eight years ago (he now has his studio in the Chevreuse Valley), Lyon-based Agoria has found a cruising speed. After Drift in 2019 and .dev in 2021, Unshadow is continuing the trend by staying away from the dance floor. A multifaceted artist, the DJ and producer, a pioneer of the French electronic scene (he participated in the launch of the Nuits Sonores electronic festival 25 years ago) is particularly interested in digital art (he collaborated in this context with the Musée d’Orsay in 2024) and artificial intelligence: one of the tracks on the album (Getaway, featuring Madison McFerrin and Nile Rodgers) will be available on a dedicated player, which will allow each listener to generate their own version of the track.

Unshadow is just as multifaceted as its author, drawing its influences from R&B, trip hop, house and even variety with this brilliant cover of Sheila’s Spacer, sung by NOémie, an old acquaintance of Agoria since she was already in the cast of Drift with Remedy. Among the faithful, we find again the American rapper STS or the Lebanese pianist Rami Khalifé on Teardrops (Don’t Stop The Music) over the course of a dozen sunny songs for what will undoubtedly remain as Agoria’s most feel good album.
